Grow
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Grow collects, why, and the choices you have. Grow is a habit-tracking app for iOS.
1. Overview
Grow stores habit progress primarily on your device. If you create an account and enable sync, some data is stored in our cloud backend so you can restore progress on another device. Optional features (such as Screen Time tracking and cloud sync of screen-time logs) are off unless you turn them on.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account & authentication
If you sign in, we process:
- Email address (email/password or magic link sign-in)
- Sign-in tokens and identifiers from Sign in with Apple and/or Google, when you choose those providers
- Optional display name you provide
Authentication is provided by Supabase Auth. Apple and Google receive only what is needed to complete their sign-in flow under their own policies.
2.2 Habit & app data
Depending on how you use Grow, this may include:
- Habits, schedules, targets, and reminders you create
- Completion logs, notes, streaks, XP, levels, and related progress
- Motivation settings (e.g. commitments, program, hard mode)
- Garden / gamification state tied to your progress
- App preferences (grouping, accountability options, etc.)
2.3 Screen Time (optional, iOS)
If you enable the built-in phone screen time habit and grant Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls permission, Grow may read total daily device screen time (minutes) to update that habit. Grow does not read your per-app usage list in the current version, does not block apps, and does not change your system Screen Time settings.
We may store:
- Daily total minutes and your chosen daily cap
- Whether a log was entered manually or synced from iOS
Screen time logs stay on your device by default. Cloud sync for those logs is off by default; you can enable it in Accountability settings.
2.4 Device & technical data
- Push / local notification scheduling on your device (habit reminders)
- Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service (e.g. session tokens stored in secure on-device storage)
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your habit or screen time data for advertising.
3. How we use information
- Provide habit tracking, progress, and related features
- Sync and restore your data when you are signed in
- Optional Screen Time habit updates you enable
- Send local reminders you configure
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests you send us
4. Where data is stored
- On your device — local app storage and secure storage for sessions
- Cloud (Supabase) — account and synced progress when you sign in; hosted by Supabase / its infrastructure providers
You can use Grow as a guest without an account; guest data remains on the device until you link an account or clear app data.
5. Sharing
We share data only as needed to operate Grow:
- Supabase — authentication and database for sync
- Apple / Google — when you use their sign-in
- Apple — Screen Time APIs when you grant permission
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention
Habit and screen time data remain until you delete it, remove the habit (and choose not to keep history), clear app data, export and stop using the app, or request account/data deletion. Synced cloud copies are kept while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups, security, or legal obligations.
7. Your choices & rights
- Use Grow without enabling Screen Time or cloud sync of those logs
- Turn off Screen Time tracking from Profile / setup flows
- Disable cloud sync for screen time logs in Accountability
- Export a JSON copy of your data from Account in the app
- Sign out or revert to guest on this device
- Delete your account permanently from Account → Delete account (removes your auth user and synced cloud data). You may also email joshuazeng313@gmail.com if you need help
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us to exercise those rights.
8. Children
Grow is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate (including where Supabase hosts data). By using Grow, you understand that data may be transferred to those locations with appropriate safeguards used by our providers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
